My Mazda dealer has a stack of them in the corner from tire delaminations and resulting warranty replacement. If we don't rotate and rebalance ours every 5K miles we have them singing to us. To me, that's junk.
Like I said....."in my experience". I rotate mine once a year and have yet to have any of them rebalanced except the one with the flat repair. They don't seem to be making any more noise than when new and ride quality hasn't suffered at all. YMMV.
I doubt that after eight model years of the E/M/T being issued with Conti's as stock tires that Ford realized they were no good. They probably had a pissing contest over price or something. Maybe Michelin gave Ford a better price on a lower grade tire. Wouldn't be the first time Ford sold a vehicle with a low-end but quality-name tire on it.
