I have been involved with off road racing for a long time (SCORE, BITD, MDR, HDRA-gone now, MORE, SNORE) and the diesels are starting to make themselves competative in the offroad industry. VW just raced the Baja 1K in a trophy truck. very impressive.
Dakar is another good one to stay ontop of espessially since robby gordon did so well over there this year.
