I have never done that, but have been looking for information on the subject for when the times come on my truck. The only info I have got is that there are six bolts to be removed that hold the cabin to the chassis. If it is a crew cab the rear seat need to be out to reach the bolts as I have been told.

I hope someone with the knowledge put a sticky on the tech folder with what's need to get detached in order to get the cab off.

Goog Luck

I "copied and pasted" this from another forum some time back. I am looking for the link to it.

This is for a crew cab.

Evacuate the ac unit
Remove the AC lines - one off of the condensor top line and the other one off of the accumulator

Remove body bolts:
There are two 18 mm nuts on core support. There are 4 bolts inside if its an extended cab or regular cab and 6 if its a 4 door super cab.

Under the truck:
Drain coolant and remove lower radiator hose
Remove the 2 power steering cooler lines

Note - some recommend to NOT remove the power steering lines. Instead, just take the lines off going to it and take both line off of the hydroboost and gear box. Look down the drivers side under degas bottle you will be able to tell what to unhook as it varies by model year transmission (so on so forth). Also if its an 03 there is a connector under the cab that has to be disconnected.

Remove the 2 transmission cooler lines
Unplug the fog lights
Remove the flap under the radiator
Remove pyro probe (if applicable), e-brake cable, tranny shift linkage, and the ground strap under passenger side
Unhook abs sensors in each front wheel well.
If its a manual shift 4x4, remove the bolts from underneath off of the shifter

Pass side of the motor:

Remove the battery
Remove the hot CAC tube
Remove the 2 ac lines
Remove the map line
Remove one hot wire connector for the vacuum pump and the ground cable behind battery
Remove one small vacuum line
Remove ground cable behind map sensor
Unhook heater core supply line.

Drivers side:

Remove the battery
Remove the cold CAC tube
Unfeed positive cable from under the radiator brackets
Remove the air intake
Remove the radiator overflow bottle and upper radiator hose
Unhook 2 lines that feed power steering fluid to the master cylinder
Remove the 2 lines from the power steering fluid reservoir
Remove the 2 front cables from computer behind battery - these are the 2 large cables that feed up the frame rail
Remove 5 electrical connectors (drivers side near the power steering reservoir, and on drivers side wheel well)
Remove 3 brake fittings in front of battery
Remove the steering connection

Note:
All the electrical connections can only fit back in the right spot they are all different sized. The fan shroud will go up with the body you don't need to remove it

Lift the cab up, slowly checking for anything you may have missed.<!-- GAL -->

Here is one other procedure I copied:

1. Remove - Radiator hoses, heater core hoses, intercooler pipes, transmission cooler lines, power steering lines.
2. Disconnect the engine harness and battery cables, but leave them connected to the engine.
Note - The engine ground is in back left corner - hidden.
3. Disconnect the steering shaft.
4. Pull the master cylinder off of the booster.
5. Disconnect the brake hoses from abs. module.
6. Remove the speed sensor wires.
7. Remove the vaccum hoses off of the engine and to the hubs (if you have them).
8. Remove the shifter cable and parking brake cable 4wd shifter (if you have it).
9. Then get all the body mounts, have to pull carpet up inside the cab.
Note - Block the wheels to the truck so it wont move.
Note - If you have a regular cab, you should tie the back of the cab to the lift arms (they are heavy in the front) just to be safe.
10. Pick it up by the pinch welds slowly and keep an eye out for anything forgotten.

I just noticed your title was "02" cab removal.

What truck do you have? My posts were for the 6.0L.

It is for an 02 but the cabs are the same. Nobody in the 7.3 forum has ever had to remove thier cabs.

Nice job searching!!!!!

Those instructions will be good for 03-07 with the 6.0

Time was covered in another thread a while back. I believe the guy said it took about 4 hours to get everything he could find loose than another 2 hours getting everything he forgot loose. I don't think he had a list though.
