Bill are there differing part numbers on the rag joint coupling?

There are two different ones, it all depends on the size of the larger pin.

GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has FIVE = 800-543-4959

WESLEY OBSOLETE PARTS in Liberty KY has ONE = 606-787-5293

C6TZ3A525A .. Steering Coupler / Larger Pin is .56" O.D. / Fits: Some 1966's, 1967/68's / Obsolete

There is a fairly decent article on the subject in another later model Ford truck forum, just need to keep in mind the info. numbers, and garbz provided, particularly regarding differences with steering columns. Unfortunately, the link will be censored out but for anyone interested, the article describes the P/S upgrade for 65-72 Ford pickups, with pics, along with few other interesting articles. In either yahoo, or google, type in '67-72 Ford pickup resource' and it will provide the link.

when installing a bendix box in a 66 sb several years ago, i used the original column and did indeed need to shorten the steering shaft 5/8 of an inch.
