Power steering pump
as on the 69-79 power steering?
My truck (66) had the Bendix power steering.
I used manual steering from a parts truck.
I would like to add power steering using a 69-79 steering sector.
Do I also need a later pump?
Thank You!

power steering?Ford P/S: 1969 F100/250 2WD & F350 from serial number D96,001 / 1970/79 F100/250 2WD & F350 / 1976/79 F100/150 4WD / 1977 F250 4WD from serial number Y20,001 (not a High Boy) / 1978/79 F250 4WD / 1979 F350 4WD.
Bendix P/S pump (all with steel reservoir) different part number than the Ford P/S pumps with the steel reservoir, but the only thing that's different is a few internal parts.
The Ford P/S pump with the steel reservoir is essentially the same 1965/77 Passenger Cars (1972/78 without Hydro-Boost) and 1966/77 F100/350, uses the same seal kit (D1AZ-3B584-A replaced C5AZ-3B584-A).
1978: FoMoCo changed the P/S pump on ALL (except Econolines & cars with Hydro-Boost ~ both use the Saginaw pump). It's a different shape and has a plastic reservoir.
The P/S pressure hose on the pump end has a straight tube with an o-ring on it, connects to the pump with a qwik connect fitting.
Since FE engines were discontinued in 1976, there is no FE P/S pump mounting brackets that will work with this plastic reservoir pump.
Steel reservoir P/S pump pressure hoses thread onto pump.
