temporary up pipe repair???

after reading "many" posts on here about our up pipes leaking (and recently hearing a "hissing" sound when accelerating) i decided to check into mine, and guess what? yep there leaking.
my problem right now is i do all my repairs in my driveway (don't have a garage) and with it being the middle of winter "single digits" for the next week, like 8 degree's tommorrow, i don't wanna get involved in any "long outdoor projects" anytime soon.
but now that i know my trucks not "right" its gonna bother me.
loss of power and gas milage won't help either.

my question is do you think something like that "high temp epoxy" will work as a temporary fix for a few months. i used some a few years ago on my 86 chevy dump truck and it lasted till i sold it two years later. but it was on the top of the engine on a "low pressure exhaust canister". it had to do with the emmisions, not sure exactly what it was, but anyone thats dealt with mid eighties 350 5.7 efi might know what i'm talkin about.

my thoughts are with the up pipe leak being so close to the turbo that it would blow the "epoxy patch" right out. not sure? just lookin for a temporary fix, any idea's or suggestions would be great, if there are any regarding this problem....

Brian, if you can live with this till spring, I would wait. Save some money and buy the Bellowed up-pipes from IH. I changed mine last year and I don't have to worry about them again. You can do the donut change, but that may turn into a fiasco.

I've got no idea if that would work, but I'd be willing to bet if you used it, you'll be forced to switch to the bellowed up pipes when you get around to fixing it. Getting the pipes off after that epoxy has set probably ain't gonna be easy.

No such thing as can't around here. You're problem is you'd just have to replace a lot more stuff to make them work. You can buy all the engine parts to make your truck a late 99, or if money is an issue, just replace the donuts.

It will not work. The pipes move, thats why they leak over time. You can bandaid it and just replace the donuts. That will work for a while.
