I have been looking for an engine information label for the V10 6.8L engine on Heavy Duty Ford Vehicles. I have been told that E450 has this type of V10 engine. I was wondering if anyone knew or could provide me with a picture or the information in the engine label that is normally under the hood of an E450. This label would ideally include information such as ignition timing, idle speed, idle air fuel mixture setting procedure and much more.
I have been looking for this information for a while, if anyone can help me find this information it would be greatly appreciated!
All that the label will tell you is "Set by the Powertrain Control Module". All that stuff is preset by the engine computer and can't be changed.
My 2001 F-250 says "Heavy Duty Engine" on the label, and says basically the same thing.
It MIGHT have the idle speed on it.
Otherwise, the V10 is the same all across the board. The E-series uses the 2-valve engine for all years (no 3-valve), but uses the TorqShift for 2005 and up.
I've been told that the engine label on the heavy duty trucks have more information. I have seen the label for 2005 model and it had other information on it such as the catalyst type and engine type with vacuum hose routing diagram among other info...
Oh, catalyst type, vacuum hose stuff yeah, but what you original asked about, idle speed, idle mix, etc, that stuff is all pre-set and can't be changed.
Did you try asking the dealer's parts dept if they can get a replacement sticker?
Yeah Ive been looking around, im located in san diego, ca. the dealers dont seem to carry the E-450, i was told to contact truck rental centers and the closest one that has an e-450 is up in Los Angeles, too long of a drive to there. Just need a pic of that sticker thats all...
