I'm thinking of buying a 08 F-450 that was reacquired by Ford. On the repair history the guy who had it had overheating problems and coolant leaking. Also one oil leak. The Ford dealer selling the Truck says everything has been fixed. What should I do?
As always Senix and nipperdog are on the money. Check out why it is a RAV unit and use that to negotiate the price down. Keep in mind you dont know if the truck overheated and fatigued other parts of the engine. If it just ran hot, ok. But if it over heated a couple times I would have to get a great deal with an extended warranty. These are great trucks but its a buyers market so use it to your advantage.
Negotiate the heck out of this one and make them throw in an extended warranty on it if the price really gets right. Take the ebay printouts of the trucks you find there when you start talking.
