I have a 01 f150 had an exhaust leak so i took it to ford dealership put on new gasket and bolts i drove it few days still leaked took back to dealership they told me manifold was cracked so got new one still leaks what do u guys think cause apparently the mechanics cant figure it out really frustrating
Just some suggestions.. Maybe they left some old gasket material stuck to the head and the raised surface is creating a leak. Cylinder head exhaust port surface not flat or burnt/pocketed from exhaust leak? EGR pipe cracked? I know in some service manuals there is a proceedure for centering and tightening the exhaust pipe flanges to the manifolds.
Is it known where the leak is?
Have not saw that listed here yet!
Get under and find the area, then you know what needs to be done.
Since you contracted the dealer to do the work and it has not been accomplished, it's a warrenty job in part.
What if you were to be failed for inspection due to an obvious exhaust leak by the same dealer?
What happens then?
Good luck.
