I ordered the block heater when I bought V10 Crew Cab in May 1998. Salesman said I don't need it in Virginia. I told him for $30 I would get my money worth if I only used it a few times.
Now I need to go set up my timer/extension cord for the first time this year.
I have, and do on a regular basis. And yes it helps the engine start, and warm up faster. We just went throug a week of temps at or below -25 F. Up here in AK.
i had an aftermarket on my 83 benz diesel. it was nice to have warm air soon after starting. car would not start below zero w/o it. bought it at checker auto parts. i also have on on my 02 jetta tdi. recently it has been on all the time. both heaters are the in line variety but they work well.
I have the heater on my 2006 V-10, don't need it much here in Texas. And every so often someone will ask what the cord is hanging down behind the bumper is.....I just look 'em square in the eye and explain the benifits of owning one of the very few Ford
F-250 V-10 Hybrid electric trucks every make. And Grin real big!!!
They work great i put one in two years ago and it sure is nice to get in a warm truck after work and drive home right away while your co-workers are waiting to defrost and such.
