I have a 92 f150 with a 351w. I have a cat back exhaust on it right now but it is not loud enough for me. I was wondering if i took that second at off would i have to deal with any o2 sensor problems? or would it not hurt at all. i was also wondering if i gutted out the first one, would it effect my o2 sensor or would it be possible to take it off as well? any help is appreciated, by the way there are no smog restrictions where i live.
I had a 95 Bronco 351 with 2 cats. I had the one closest to the muffler cut off and put on a one in two out 40 series Flowmaster. The o2 sensor is before the first cat (the one closest to the engine) so it shouldn't give you any trouble.
I have an 88 F-150 with a 302 and cat back flowmasters. I cut off the second cat and gutted the first one and I have had no problems, It sounds good and I felt a slight power gain. If you do hollow out the first one don't conect your exhaist back up for a day or so tho so that all of the stuff blows out. After you drive it for a little bit poke it out again then look in there with a spot light opr something.
I have a 1992 f150 with a 302 and I replaced the the cat with a bazani equalizer pipe and it is awesome. The sound is great I have no complains I did replace the flowmaster with a ravin muffler and it sounds better. You can hear my truck coming down the street.
