pipe size

I have an 89 f 150 with a 302. I was wondering what size of exhaust pipe would be the best. I have no cats a dynomax super turbo muffler. I would like to just keep the single though. Thanks for any help.

My friend runs single 3 inch pipe on his 81 f-150 with a 302 and it seems to sound good and work well
