What size down pipe would I be able to run without having to change my firewall. Or vary minimal changing. What are the pros and cons of going to a larger down pipe. Thanks

3" is it. And still you will be bending the pinch weld flat on the firewall.
With a 2 piece DP, it makes a nice transition from a 3"DP into the 4" out, if you want to go that route. I think Clay(Riffraffdiesel) offers one that goes to 5" out, but that's a huge exhaust!
3 inch is a big as it goes without a cab lift.... I have the Diamond Eye 3 inch downpipe into the 5 inch downpipe back exhaust system.... also made by diamond eye.... very large and very expensive but i sure like the way it sounds..... man does she roar.

Where do you have your exhaust come out at? I saw the 5" kit, but I was thinking that it might be way too much exhaust for me..
It comes out to a 6 inch tip at a 45 degree angle on the passenger side behind my mud flap, I have a thread in here about duraflap mudflap installation, theres a pic of it in there i believe, photobucket isn't loading up for me to reuse the pic.
might be normal might not be who knows but my ol lady says she can definitely see a connection between my happiness and whatever is going on with my truck haha trucks been gone for two weeks and she says I've been unusually irritable ha
Tell me about it. My ex hated the fact I liked working on my truck, said it took away from "us" time. Oh well, she's out of the picture, but not because of my truck! I would have found a way to make it work with that. My packages from Clay should be arriving tomorrow, so by this weekend, or early next week, I'll have a few more parts ready to get stockpiled in the closed waiting to get thrown on the truck!
Lol my ol lady swears I love the truck more than her, which isn't true by any means but I can't sit still, my mind is always going and I like to be physically active, and with my new office job the only time I get to be active and fully engaged is on the weekends in the shop with the trucks. She understands that to a degree and I make time for her as well but no one would like me if I didn't have my truck to work on, I go stir crazy being cooped up in the house between 7 and 9 a.m. on a Saturday morning waiting for my buddies to get around so we can figure out what we're working on for the day.
Haha! Well I just need to find a country girl, who likes to get her hands dirty, and join me working on the truck! That, and I did love my ex, but she thought my family hated her, when in all reality, christmas just wasn't the time to bring your ex, and her 2 kids on leave with you. Maybe a military girlfriend wasn't the best idea in hindsight.
