I just ordered my '09 Platinum last night. MSRP is $49,615, invoice is $44,987. Our company has done a lot of business with this dealer over the last couple years, so they were willing to sell it to me for invoice price. The sales manager said it should take 4-6 weeks for it to arrive so who knows what the rates will be at that time, but I'm happy to be paying invoice right off the bat. The last couple of vehicles we bought we beat up the manager for part of the holdback as well, but I figure in this economy everyone needs to make a couple extra bucks.

Are you gonna give him the $2000 rebate back to him? Plus, the invoice price you mention is about $600 higher than actual invoice the dealer paid. You should get that truck for around$42,300 -42,500 Oz. The dealer will make money on the truck from his holdbacks that you mention. Most of the time the dealer will add a few hundred bucks to the invoice which is fine, and $600 is not outrageous.
But do make sure you get the rebate...that is your money that Ford is giving to you.
Sounds like you ordered all the bells and whistles. What color?

Yeah that invoice price sounds a little high. My truck was almost the exact same price as yours and my invoice was 43500 but that was job 1. Job 2 is a little higher from what i hear but not that much more to make it nealry $1500 more.
I'll get whatever rebates/financing that are available at the time of delivery, but since it's several weeks away they can't guarantee anything. I actually sat with my salesman and the sales manager and watched them put the order into the order system (was actually kinda cool to watch) and I saw the MSRP & dealer invoice price right on the screen. Thanks for looking out tho, I'll definitely make sure I get all available rebates when it comes in.
It is basically the same truck as BSimmer got. White sand, brown/black interior, nav, moon roof, bed step, tailgate step, trailer brake controller. I had a new 2002 F-150 but sold it in 2006. Worst thing I've ever done, it was the best truck I've ever had. I'm so glad to be coming back.
Congrats to ckrichard on your King Ranch, another beautiful truck!
I was messing around on Edmunds.com to price out the Platinum with just a few minor options (no navi-I don't need it), and the MSRP was 45,645 and it said the invoice was 41,500.

I agree, it seems high. I would have more doubt if I didn't see the screen for myself. I'll scan the order confirmation sheet and put it in my gallery. Let me know if you see anything that looks out of place.
Thanks

Edit: The images are small, I'll see what I can do to get some bigger ones.

Clearly you didnt read my posts. I said you can get a loaded platinum for around the price i paid (41k) without to much of a problem. The people have gotten the base platinums for around the 32k mark. That is no were near base. It's a 50k truck.
He has gotten pretty dam close at 41.9k with the rebates. Some areas now have a $4k worth of rebates depending on area so he may even get it for same price as i did.

I read and understand your posts quite clearly but to me there is quite a difference between 32K and 41.9K

That's not true, I am on my 2nd ordered truck now, and according to my dealer, which did come true, you get either what is available for rebates/financing at the time you order the truck, or when it is delivered. So if they get better you can take advantage of it, but if they get worse, you are still guaranteed what they were when you ordered. Just a heads up in case the incentives would get worse when you take delivery.
