Revs slow?:(

I have a 95 that seems to rev slow. It has some glow plug issues I need to correct, but I dont think that has anything do do with it reving slowly. I thought it ran fine up till my brother in-law just bought a 96 with a PSD. He let me test drive it and sitting still and just hitting the throttle his truck reved way faster than mine. I mean his would rev to 3k like nothing. While mine seems to take forever compared to his. Driving down the road they seem about the same. His has an auto and mine has a 5 speed. I actually think mine gets up and goes better than his does even with an exhaust leak before the turbo. So what do you guys think. Would o rings on the injectors cause this? I think the are worn. I think I remember reading somewhere that if your motor runs rough from 2300-2900 when you just floor it that the o rings are shot? Is that true? My truck has 180k his has 140k. Thanks for any help.

yours could be leaking, does it smoke and carry on or just rev slow and smooth? also the exhaust leaks pre-turbo can cause loss of power

No it doesnt smoke at all even when I floor it. It revs smooth till 2300 rough till 2900 then smooth again.

they could be leaking, usually you get a little smoke from the tailpipe along with the rough accel. definatly need to fix the leaking up-pipes. does it still have a cat on it?

Its actually the drivers side exhaust manifold that is leaking, it popped a bolt head. Yeah it still has the stock cat on it I believe.

remove the cat and see if it runs any better, may be getting clogged up as well, and definatly fix that exhaust leak!

Yeah I would like to fix he exhaust leak, but I am simply out of time for a while. Ill see if I can gut the cat though.

if nothing else the gutted cat will give you a little more power. alot if its clogged up
