missing?
can anyone tell me what the symptoms of a missing engine are? when i floor my truck it revs then its like the engine cuts out for a second then resumes reving rince and repeat. during the cut out or miss i guess the truck shakes pretty violently. at least its very very noticable. i tried my grandads 91 f150 5.8 like mine and reved his and his just revs nice and smooth. nothing like what mine does. is my truck missing on a cylinder?

Could be a couple things. First thing I would do is a tune-up, including wires, dist. cap, rotor, spark plugs, filters, and PCV valve.

just had sparkplugs replaced. might need to luck into getting the wires etc done.

If wires are connected properly. Inspect the boots on the sparkplug end of the wires. I had some that had gotten rather gooey. I would do what andym suggested at the least. Mine ran about 200 percent better just by doing these things.

it was doing it before the replacment of the plugs though.

Ussally when you have a missing engine the front of the truck sits higher

So if you rake the front end the miss will go away.
SERIOUSLY THOUGH, When you had the plugs replaced were all the other things andym suggested done also. Wires,rotor,distributor cap,etc.

do i understand you right? does it quit like you shut the engine off and then back on? if so the fuel filter is probally plugged up
