I have a (hopefully) easy question for you exhaust gurus: Is there a good way to get a nice rumble-throaty sound out of a V-6 in a '98 ranger? I am asking for a friend who needs a new tail pipe and muffler anyway and wanted to know what others have used. Nothing too loud, just better than stock. Thanks in advance for any input.
I have friends with flowmasters and Ravins... Flows will be louder and still have highpitched sounds with it. Ravins filter out the highpitched sounds and enhance the lowerones. Also Ravins are only heard out the back of the car, none inside unless the windows are down with no raido. Its the closest I have heard to an 8... only problem is Ravins are quite expencive.
I installed a flowmaster on my V6. It has the duel outlet, and I had them install large tips and all. It sounded alright, but after lowering it, I cut the pipes off at the muffler and just put down pipes. It sounds sooooo much louder and beefier. If i knew that when I got the system installed, I could have saved me 70 bucks on those damn exhaust tips.
