My name is nolan. I just recently joined because i purchased a 1977 F-250 Ranger standcab pickup. I paid 400 dollars for it and bought it from the second owner. the truck has 96,000 original miles on it. the body is in great shape, the cab corners aren't even rusty! I also have the original paperwork and manual to the truck. the truck runs and drives great, all it needs is a new coat of paint and some maintainance and it is ready for the road. For the drivetrain in has the original 400 ci. big block with the 3 speed cruis-o-matic transmission, it also has a dana 5300 limited slip rearend. it is also green and the the truck was also sold brand new in my hometown in 1977. the truck has a nice Knapahide flatbed with a headache rack that i think looks good on the truck. the truck is a 2 wheel drive. i will get pics up on here as soon as possible. the truck also has the sliding glass rear window. this is my very first ford truck. hopefully it will make a great truck for me.
sounds like a great truck. $400 sounds like an excellent deal, too.
if you have any questions about this truck or need help, don't put off asking it. that's why FTE was invented. so guys/gals could talk about their Fords.
Welcome! I too have a 77 F250 Ranger, but I paid way more than that for it 10 years ago... You will LOVE it! they are great trucks. Mine also has the original AM radio in the dash and it too works with the original dash speaker (though I have a whole nother sound system installed under the dash also..) Good luck!

Welcome to the site Nolan. You can't go wrong with an F250. Sounds like a great truck and it's cool you get to know a little about it's past. If it has a 400 with 96,000 and still has the original timing gears you may want to take a peak at them. My 400 in my 78 had the factory teflon teethed timing gears take a dump around 100,000 miles. They shredded on the highway and I in turn lost all oil PSI. Cost about $900.00 to rebuild. Just a heads up! Good luck with your "new" toy. Keep us posted.
also too, what kind of mufflers would sound good with the 400 that is in it? it has true dual exhaust on it now but the glasspacks soundy really ratty on it. i want want a aggressive sounding set of mufflers to deliver a good tone.
