OK guys, of all the things that could have gone wrong during the buildup on my 02 F350, this has got to be the stupidest. I have been scratching my head for months now and something just didn't seem right. I have done diagnostic after diagnostic, and couldn't figure it out.
To make a really long story short, I finally broke down and sent it in to one of the local diesel shops to let them look at it and get a second opinion and ya know what they said? "Man, that is one of the nicest running powerstrokes ive seen. We've had ones leave here fixed that don't run that good; but oh by the way............ Your cooling fan is on backwards. You might wanna look at that!!"
DOH!!!
Now, does anyone happen to have a picture of the engine comparment that shows the orientation of the fan blades as well as its position on the clutch assy? Any pics of how it is supposed together would be nifty. They guys at the diesel shop didn't have time to fix it so they graciously let me leave with only my pride hurt and no charges.
I can't get a pic but will try to explain
the fan turns counter clockwise if your standing in front looking at it
looking at the fan it should look as it is cutting into the air with vonvex cupping to the rear of the blade
