trailer wiring connection

Ok so I just bought a trailer and the wiring was messed up so i ran all new wires and new lights and plugged in the little 4 prong and nothing so wtf is wrong with my truck I don't know where to start I checked the fuse for the trailer lights and it was good is there more than one fuse for that and do you have any other ideas of what could be wrong

Did you check for power at the plug? Did you check the fuses under the hood? I have an 01 and thats where the fuses for the trailer plug is on mine.

I had power to the plug and then it quit so that is why i am thinking that i blew a fuse didn't know it was under the hood is it one of those big *** maxi fuses or whatever they are called

Deven- on my 99 there are several fuses under the hood for the trailer lights- some of the big maxi's and some of the little mini's. Use a test light to check for blown fuses and go from there.

Been awhile since I have had to look in mine but IIRC they are the same as the under dash fuses. I can go out and look and let you know for sure.
went and looked and there is both minis and maxis but if a fuse is the problem it should be one of the minis. The box is on the drivers side right behind the air filter box....says power distribution box on the top.
