ok how do i tell if the 72 f-100 is all the same truck the side says its an f-100 and the glove box door...(no box just big hole) says its a ranger it needs some major body work nuthing inside the truck works no lights or anything on dash so i cant tell how fast im going or how much gas i have left iv had it for 2 days and im told is a 360ci....? and im told its a 72.....? im paying $1200 for it.
it run good and shifts good i just put a new master cill in it but the brakes still suck it has drums all around and no power ster.
i just looked at all the wireing and its all jerry riged and i mean all of it
i have a real bad feeling that iv been screwed but like i said it dose run good real good no smoke or anything
so if yall could help me no it would be great its my first for truck

the vin is located on the drivers door.
if you post the vin here someone will decode it for you.
on the same plate if i remember right it will have the year of the truck.
as far as engine size the vin will tell you original size. but not necissarilly current size.
ranger was one of the models of the f100
as for the interior power check the fuses, door jamb swithces and interior light bulb.
C has stood for the Ontario Canada Assembly Plant since 1956.
I've decoded VIN's here on FTE where the trucks were sold new out of Pittsburgh PA, Washington DC, Denver CO and Fargo, ND, but the trucks were assembled in Canada.
Most of the 1967/72 and all of the 1973/1979 Crew Cabs were assembled in Canada.
