Speedometer cable replacement
I need to replace the speedometer cable in my '76 F-250. What is the proper way to disconnect the cable from the speedometer head? Can it be done without pulling the dash apart? Any special tools? Thanks for your help.

To disconnect it - there is a white color plastic collar that locks the cable onto the head. You have to push the connector to the side and the cable will slide out then. The cable should come out fairly easy. I have a good pic on my computer at home that I can post when I get there.
I don't think you need to pull the dash out to get it, as long as you can fit on the floor and reach your arm up there.
