its got 371000 miles. Compression loss over night? that seems hard to believe but hey im not a diesel mechanic I know my o rings maby bad not too sure though. When I had it at international they told me that everything checked out ( they had it for like a week) ie: compression, injectors, turbo. the only thing they recomended me to do was put stage 2 sticks in it. lol not for 4k. So im just confused at the moment. i could just probally a bad bach of fuel. who knows
here is a question, is there a way to test injectors if they are firing without a scan tool?
Start it up cold then with your fingers feel each exhaust port. They should all be equally warm . If you have a laser thermometer that work better. You should be able to tell real fast which cylinder(s) that is not firing properly.
well heres the issue, Number 2 cyl injector is firing according to the scan tool but nothing else. The shop tells me lots of things that could be broken ie: broken valve spring, bent/ broke pushrod, bad valve, hole in piston, cracked liner.... Im just at my witts end here with the truck. Its gonna be costly here. need advice on truck.. Jack
update on the truck, my number 2 cyl intake pushrod was bent into a S shape, no idea how that happened, its fixed now and wasnt too bad 247.00. So its back up and running for now...
