where we came from

I was wandering around FTE this a.m. .... looking in closets and such and -re-found this page..

for you newbies.... lots of you don't know our history.. Ken Payne and others lost a lot of blood sweat and tears as well as dollars to get us here...we all should appreciate where we are from where we came from... it's a good read...

That's interesting, thanks for sharing. This site is like family--but more helpful. My hat's off to all the folks that help others in their quest to fix and maintain these Great Ford Trucks

Sometimes when doing google searches for the obscure Ford info I run into some of the old list-serve messages. Ya some of you Ol' Farts are still here

Dick...

I've got a library of all the classic truck and custom & classic truck mags back to 1995 and I also have 10 3" 3-ring binders full of articles and 'stuff' I've collected over the years.... they are broken down by 'systems"... brakes, body, engine, interior..etc...

There are a lot of printouts from the old mail server days from the late 90's that I've saved with some good info...

I can remember someone handing me a card at the supernats late 90s/early 2000's, with the FTE web site on it. The guy had taken a photo of my truck and said I could go to this site to see it posted there. ( I had to have him explain what "posted" was ).LOL
Probably still have the card around here some place.

John,

I was around in the early days. I remember getting the list serve forums via email. I got onboard when there were 2 forums, pre-80 and post 80, but how come it says I joined in Dec 2000 in the upper right hand corner? Just curious.

I went back to the beginning of this fourm once and it wasn'y where it started. I hope that confuses you as much as it does me.

Yeah, mine did the same. I've been on here from almost the very beginning. I use to receive the email digests everyday. It was always fun to log on and see what was in the box.

I've seen a lot of guys come and go. I've seen the feeling of the board change from time to time but that's all part of growing, everything changes. This site is still the number one place I go to every day, this site and the Ford Barn site, both filled with very knowledgeable people.

There are things that I learned decades ago - I used them and believed in them so much I thought it was Law.
After answering someones question - someone else would speakup and correct me and explain where I was wrong.
It's called learning and the only way that happens is by sharing what you know or don't know.
