Well that explains the difference. Yep those were the pictures I used to help another member fix his lock, It's a series of pictures with the latch at various stages of disassembly.

Now that I look it more, with fresh eyes, it is the passenger side. Nonetheless, my eyes are trained to immediately focus on the inner door lock handle side to see if that clip is there.
