[updated:LAST EDITED ON 28-Nov-02 AT 10:46 PM (EST)]This Sunday, Nov. 30th, I am planing on removing my stock muffler on my '99 F-150 4x4 Ext cab 5.4. I am going to throw in a piece of pipe for now, and am curious if it will sound ok for the time being, untill I can do some real exhaust work to it later. I just got this truck the 23rd of this month and cannot stand how quiet it is, I am also curious as to how I should go about getting the most sound possible when I goto do it properly later on. Should I remove all the cats or just a couple?? if so how will the oxygen sensors act. Thanks for any info.
i recently took everything off from the cats back. ran pipe out in front of the rear pass. tire. sounds good, could be better, of course. my cats are also old, so i suppose yours would muffle more.
