for the new 09 F-150's? I am surprised to see only 5 or 6 posts of new trucks here, where I would have expected to see alot more based on how nice they look and everyones positive reactions to them. BTW, yalls trucks look awesome for those who have posted pics. I am in the market to sell or trade my 08 F-250 for an 09 F-150 but might wait until rebates get better. I was very upset that trade-in values went down the tubes when diesel prices went to almost $5.00/gal. Now that diesel prices are down again, trade-in prices have not rebounded. May have to sell my truck first, and by the time it sells the rebates will be better.
I have not seen any 09's on the road yet down here in S. Louisiana, which surprises me as the economy has not taken a huge hit in LA, like it has elsewhere. I believe everyone is waiting for much larger rebates knowing the auto industry is in big trouble. We only have a $2000 rebate going on the 09's down here. So I would expect that someone could get around $5000-$6000 off msrp. Not sure dealers here are bargaining around the invoice yet on the new 09's, but thats what I would expect.
That brings up another point....if the auto industry is in dire straits, why don't they mark down their product say 25%-50% like other products you find at retail stores? Yalls thought?
I have seen about 10 on the road so far. Good looking trucks. Couple construction companies that do road work are starting to get a few in. Saw a loaded out Lariat yesterday and all i have to say is WOW!
I heard they are selling very well in the central U.S. and plains states. The trucks are being tagged as they are backed off the carriers. Hopefully, it will last.
Well thats a good thing if they are selling as yall mention, course it doesn't bode well for larger rebates in the next few months. I just haven't seen any on the road. I counted the number of 09 F-150's on Fords inventory website from 5 dealers within a 25 mile radius. There are 102 09's. I realize some of those are not yet on the lot or are presolds, but thats alot for not seeing any on the road. Guess thats why I'm spending my time on here viewing yalls 09's cuz I don't see them elsewhere, lol.
For those that own a 09, what color are the gauge lights, and do they have a light in the cupholder? Interior looks sweet! I like the black interior, but was surprised to see brown seats on the platinum, thought they would be black too. Wonder how that would look on black truck?
I have said this a few times before but i dont think we are gonna see any more rebates better than what is being offered on the 09 atm. I was looking at getting an 08 until i found out that i could get an 09 for $3k extra. Now if Ford did give more rebates, then the new 09 would be selling for about the same price a last gen, Year old 08 is selling for. Even my mate who sells these things is saying it's a nightmere to sell the 08's now that the 09's are such a good price. Lucky for them they only have 10 or so 08's left.
I don't think getting rid of 08's is going to be a problem..my parents want one and i've not been able to find a supercrew xlt 5.4 with a 6.5 foot bed anywhere within 250 miles so far....
Bsimmer,
Now I could understand getting an 09 for $3000 extra, but down here they are only $2000 rebate and off of MSRP. There are no employee pricing on these either. The best someone could do is about $5000-$6000 off MSRP. Maybe more if your lucky. But 08's are going for about $12,000 or more off of MSRP. Thats $6000-$7000 difference...alot more than $3000 off for an 09 that you claim. I would pursue if employee pricing was offered now, but if they are not going to give bigger rebates in near future, then will wait until end of year. They will offer those big rebates at that time, maybe even the labor day sale in Sept.

Just wait until this summer the prices will come down, bsimmer is dreaming no way in hell will u get an 09 with in 3K of an 08 at least not on the west coast
I guess it's because I work in an area in the vacinity of more than a few Ford, Lincoln, Mercury dealers, and the township that I work in is very well to do. That is where I mosty see the '09's, although my neighbor bought one a few weeks ago, an XL Regular cab Long Bed, the first XL I've seen to date.
