Are sales slow...

Bsimmer,
Now I could understand getting an 09 for $3000 extra, but down here they are only $2000 rebate and off of MSRP. There are no employee pricing on these either. The best someone could do is about $5000-$6000 off MSRP. Maybe more if your lucky. But 08's are going for about $12,000 or more off of MSRP. Thats $6000-$7000 difference...alot more than $3000 off for an 09 that you claim. I would pursue if employee pricing was offered now, but if they are not going to give bigger rebates in near future, then will wait until end of year. They will offer those big rebates at that time, maybe even the labor day sale in Sept.

Like you say 08's are about 12k of msrp but you can get 10k of msrp on 09's easy. People have been getting them prices all day long since they have been out. Thats without any A,X,Y and Z plan pins. I was going to get one but i got my platinum for 3k more than i could have got a 08 lariat that didnt even have nav. Do a search andyou will see that people are getting some great discounts.

My mate says all trucks have been selling a lot better than they have been but they still having trouble getting people to go for the 08's over the 09's. They have even parked the 09's out the way now. They have a couple of 2008 XLT's in stock from what i remember.

People have been getting platinums as low as 32K all over the US. This is what people dont seem to understand. A loaded platinum is a lot nicer than a loaded lariat and even if you go for the cheapest platinum they make it's stilll a lot nicer than a loaded 08 lariat.

I am in the market to sell or trade my 08 F-250 for an 09 F-150 but might wait until rebates get better. I was very upset that trade-in values went down the tubes when diesel prices went to almost $5.00/gal. Now that diesel prices are down again, trade-in prices have not rebounded.
F250 - 1 XLT in MI $28,000 after rebates, next closest one in NY. But plenty of $55,000 diesels ($48,500 after rebates).
F350 - only loaded diesels
Trade ins are low because they can't sell a used diesel unless they give it away.
Diesel is still $0.75 to 1.00 more than premium in Detroit.

My 08 F-250 MSRP for $53,000 and got if for $48,000 w/ X-Plan in May of 07. Can't believe they don't have larger rebates on them now.
What is sad is the truck is 08 and I would be lucky to sell it for $35,000, and paid $48,000. Geez...a $13,000 loss! So that is why I want to find a truck with a huge rebate so I can recoup some of the loss.
I agree. Dealers will not sell the vehicles below there cost, and that Ford is only giving them $2000 off of 09's not including holdbacks which maybe about another $500-$800. So, with the MSRP/Invoice difference of about $4000, plus $2000 and holdback (dealer keeps generally), thats about $6500-$7000 off of MSRP. So I come up with $39,120 on "how2's" truck, not $37,300 or $32,000 as Bsimmer says. A dealer cannot survive if they sell those trucks below what they pay from Ford.
Only until Ford gives the dealer more money in rebates, etc can they sell those 09's for that cheap. You tell me what dealer or dealers across the country and I will buy from them tomorrow. Hopefully they are close to Louisiana.

Well a fully loaded platinum at invoice, when i got mine was $43k minus rebates of $3000 Even though most dealers are only showing $2k that made my truck $40k without my x-paln pin. My x-plan pin knocked about another 1k of the price but i had to pay TT&L so in total my truck was about 41k. That was for a fully loaded platinum. I have seen people go for the base model platinum and get it for about $32k which dont seem strange to me at all. They are only 39K msrp from what i remember.

A base Platinum Screw 2WD w/ 5-1/2' bed is $41,415 MSRP or $37,305 invoice. $2000 off and another $1000 x-plan then at $34,305 n/i TT&L. Not Happening again for $32,000
Bsimmer, did you have a trade? I ask because you mention that your TT&L was about $2000, but if no trade then your tax rate their is extremely cheap where you are (maybe 5%). Our tax rate here is 9% which would have add $3500 to the $39,000 or $42,500 for your truck.
I would like to buy a Platinum, but wife tells me to keep it cheap. I priced a Platinum with the options I wanted and it was $47,500 - inv.$42,500. If Ford adds more rebates, might consider one but until that happens it might have to be an FX4. But even the FX4 invoice I want is $38,500. Not much difference in price, but is their a big enough difference in the trucks? (Platinum vs. FX4)
