It will quiet the cackle down in general, along with the fuel tank mods. That actual injector makes the noise whether it's getting ample fuel supply or not -- that's the piece you're missing. That said, make sure you're hearing the LL "AE" injector. Not all trucks got it! But if you're hearing that sound every 8th injector firing event, there's a pretty darn good chance you do.
I agree, it will quiet the engine somewhat, but it will never eliminate that knocking sound.
I've even gone a step further and migrated the fuel pump to the end of the fuel pickup in the tank to completely eliminate any source of air getting into the fuel stream.
Not even doing that got rid of the noise.
But it did make the most difference, moving the pump vs making the CCK kit.
The pump that I used is Bosch part number 69430.
It is physically larger than the Ford pump.
I tried for over a month to order his new RR kit for around $700 from DFA..I finally got an answer here from him in a thread that was around here....here is what he had to say

Ron- Got your email and that was on my short list for emails to return. But sounds like I don't need to worry about it now. Amazing the change when going from a basic gearhead to a business owner, Not to make excuses, but it is a whole different world. It is always a choice of how to use my time- And sometimes it boils down to helping existing customers, or helping potential customers, And of course we want to make sure that existing customers are helped first, then on to new customers that haven't given us their money yet.
.. I cant see how you make money that way..I ended up going with a RR kit from another source..don't waste your time with him..build your own kit or just spend on a RR...
Man, didn't think doing the right thing would haunt me like this. Because I try to be honest with you, and not put myself in a position where I take your money and still have to have you wait for ever, you choose to blast me, and then keep bringing it up over and over again. When you act like that and are not even a customer yet, how do you treat a company once you have paid them? We put a priority on existing customers, Plain and Simple. And I have responded to our Australian friend. Ron- let it go dude so we can all get along.:
didnt relise the OP heard from you yet and i was just letting him know not to hold his breath and maybe try the DIY way...I'm not taking it personally..so no hard feelings here...there are 4 or 5 more complaint threads on the other forums about the exact same issue...the OP is a long way away and if he is like me..my mods are like a Christmas gift to kids..you just cant wait to install them..an email only takes a couple minutes to answer...as far as the other 3 sponsors I buy from. they have treated me very well..once or twice I emailed diesel site and ITP and they have even sent me to another source ...but at least they answer my emails..for that .I go back for more and brag about them here.....
It's cool. You make a valid point, a quick reply is better than no reply. Now back on track-
Josh- One other thing you may want to look at whether you buy a kit or make your own is whether your truck is made from what we call early 99 or late 99 parts. Since you have an Australian version that is a 2004 7.3 that doesn't even exist for most of us who knows. I would think it would be late 99. Early 99's require some clearancing on the turbo up-pipe flange to put a fitting in the rear port, no matter whose parts you use. An easy way to tell for you is to take a look at your intake spyder. The spyder on the newer trucks where it connects to the turbo and the intake at the heads will be the same size. On the early version there is a serious size reduction connecting to the turbo and the heads.

thanks for the info i will check that but from memory when i had the turbo off it was the same size, my dad has taken it today (told me he has to pick something up, i bet it would have easily fit in his car, think hes just hangin to drive it) lol.
sorry for not letting everyone know that you had gotten back to me, i thought i mentioned it in here, but it may have been in one of the PM's that were sent to me. i have had so many people help out with this its great.
even to the point where brendan is willing to buy and send over your cck and have me pay him back (absolute champion),
cheers

yeah without taking the cover off to see it definatly sounds like it, it sounds like one injector only and to me sounds like it is coming from the cylinder in front of me when im driving which if im right is #8, so to get rid of that i need to replace injectors, well the misses aint goin to like it when i tell her i have to spend another 3 or 4 grand on parts. LOL
aahhh the fun of it all.....
