it will not give you more boost or lower the EGT's..it just hides what boost you can make from the map sensor so the truck dont defuel its self..with a chip a stock turbo can build 30 lb but going over 25 lb of boost the stock turbo wont last long...
So it will give you more boost than you could otherwise make then right? If it did not hide this, then defueling would prevent this boost. So the answer is yes.
No, you will not have a bigger turbo. There is some to be made above 25psi, but Ford decided that was the safe limit for a reason. Do not live there on the stocker as I have mentioned in the injector thread that is running.
Oh, and I have heard the new tunes do not require a boost fooler, yet DP still sells it??? Perhaps an arrangement with a vendor, or totally unnecessary" I cannot say.
like i said..the OBA does not make more boost.air and fuel makes boost...the OBA just lets the boost that can already be made.. be used...on a stock un chipped truck that makes 20 lb of boost..you will still only make 20 lb of boost with the OBA...the OBA alone will not make more boost....
AFAIK, Tony doesn't make the "codes tunes" that I'm aware of. I've been hearing about these -- anyone know what exactly they do? And does he charge anymore for them? I do know that if you already have his tunes, $20-$45 is still cheaper than getting reburnt, if you have more than one tune. And you don't have to live without your F5 for a week.
lol..not trying to split hairs..just want the OP or a new guy reading the thread to relise ..that just putting that on his truck means he will build more boost...not sure if his set up will make more then 22-23 lb of boost..
copy and past from the DP site..
the P1211(icp<>desired, P1249(Overboost) P0478(Exhaust back pressure)is relaxed so the SES light is not tripped under normal driving conditions

Is that their explanation of the "codes tunes"? "Normal" driving conditions?? I don't need the OBA for "normal" driving conditions. I need it when I'm hammering the dog.... out of it!!!
You're very welcome, bro!!! I have yours as well, and I swear I'll get these mods done one day....
On another subject, I'm going to build a boost leak tester this weekend. I'm wondering if I have a leak someplace now. When I put the ATS on, I lost about 5psi. Only getting about 23-24psi now. I was getting 27ish with the stock wheel/housing. I gotta figure this out. Sorry for the hijack...
do you still have the WW on there??? if so..you will loose some boost..put the stock wheel back in and you will be happy...alot of good rave on the other site about this subject..they say stock wheel with ATS is the way to go..

My take on this is that the "codes tunes" prevent the annoying reoccurrence of the SES light by conditions caused by the programming. These conditions will be always be there because of the parameters used in the programs. It's just an electronic way of "pulling the bulb''. The conditions still exist, just no light. Seems like this would mask underlying problems if they were out of spec enough and you wouldn't know if a true problem did exist. I would need Jody to explain this better.

No. 1.15 Exh housing van turbo, stock wheel, and ATS compressor housing. I was getting 27 just before I put the ATS on it. I'm told the ATS shouldn't cause that much of a boost drop. Anyone else see that much of a drop??

That answers my question Roland. I have a OBA that i made up but not installed yet. I do have the code tunes. I'll install the OBA so that there is no code on the PCM insted of just not letting the light come on.
