can someone tell me the factory cfm rating for a H2E turbo? i only found one page that showed it and that was on beans, and they showed only 900cfm. with an upgrade to 1100cfm. but thats 3 grand
i mean the d66 flows 1050cfm and its only 1100$??
i know they use different barings, but is that all?
im sure there is something a lot more indepth, so im here to learn
general consensus for the h2e is more like 1000.
the D66 is a good turbo. If you're going for high horsepower(400+), go with the h2e. it's more upgradeable. other than that, i'd go D66.
* the upgrade of the H2e to the larger wheels makes it about equivalent in flow to the Hx55 (1200 cfm) without making a huge dent in spool...
Yea. Well thanks for that information. See the hard thing is I am not exactlysure at how much horsepower I'm going to make. I'll just be putting additions on as I go. The plan for now is kinda simple. Stage 2 180cc injectors. Intercooler 3" down pipe 4" exhaust. Tymer style intake 6637 filter. 140v idm. Tw chip. 203 stat. Things along those lines. So I'm not sure how much horsepower that will yeild me with when it's all done. I'd hate to buy two turbos.
Stage 2's are the max recommended fuel for the D66. D66 runs about $1100, on the H2E your looking at about $2300 due to the mounting kit unless you can do lots of fab work then you can get away much cheaper! I am shooting for $500 going into my H2E setup.
tj you not going to do the hx50? yea unfortunitly i dont think ill be in a position to custom fab things, i would just have to bite the bullet and spend the 2400$...seems like its worth it and all... just hard to swallow that much money in one hit. but id rather buy the best first, then have to buy another turbo in 2 years because the first isnt keeping up no more..
I'm probably going to get nailed on this but IMHO the D66 is way over priced. For almost that kind of money you can get a built turbo. However, turbo upgrades are somewhat limited for PSD's so companies have the ability to raise the price.
The H2E kit is the same way. Un-built Holsets are fairly cheap, but it's pretty much the only kit on the market.
I've never ran the D66, but if your going to upgrade the turbo you might as well save some more and get the H2E.
TJ, I'm disappointed. lol. The 50 is an efficient high horse charger that can handle serious lbs. Maybe someday I'll be able to spool mine up and drive over to MI to get you back on the band wagon. lol. Maybe you can utilize that Schwitzer that's still sitting in a box in my basement...
