Hello all, I wanted to ask about the idm mod. I finally got the parts to resistor to do it. I was wondering if it is really worth it, or if anyone has had any problems with their truck afterwards? Just finished up with home(work) made HPX system, and love it. I don't want to get into something that I will regret later!
Also, the oil in the high pressure system, is that something I have to fill or does that oil come from the motor?
Thanks

As longa s your don't wreck the IDM in the process it a worthwhile mod. I have not heard of any issues after the Mod either.
The HP oil system will refill from the oil pan but if the reservoir is empty you should prefill it before you start the truck as it will start easier.
It is not that bad....I practiced with some junk circuit boards and radio shack resistors a few times before I did mine.So far throttle response is better and seems to start a little easier.
I did mine. I had two resistors and melted the first one. I wanted to solder it close to the board like the original. I left long legs on the second one and that went in fine. I used a hot glue gun and dumped a load of hot glue around the resistor legs to give it support. I didn't cover the resistor though. Haven't had any problems with it. The hardest part is cracking open the case and resealing IMO.
