IDM Mod with PHP tuning????

I am about to order my tunes from PHP. I was told by my local powerstroke shop that if I run the Tunes with the IDM mod, I will lose power. However, I called PHP and they said they have never heard of this being an issue. They suggested I call Swamps diesel since they both the PHP tunes and their heigher voltage IDM. Swamps said "no problem". They said the tuning and IDM mod are different things and the IDM mod will only help me and not hurt me.
I want to do the IDM since the resistor is .25 cents and I can gain 20hp
Please advise

Do it. I had it with my DP tunes with no issue. Like swamps said. They are different kinds of mod with no real direct relation

I had the IDM first for awhile then added the DP tunes. I can't remember which resistor I ended up using. That IDM died and I didn't have time to upgrade the new one. It is on my list of things to do. The truck did seem to run smoother with it in

Great. It's a cheap mod. I need to find a good write with pics. I saw one the other day.

The idm mod is a decent mod, but it WILL shorten the lifespan of it. Mine lasted a couple years after the mod, now I just run a remanned 120v off of a SD.

I just get conflicting Opinions on it. Swamps says yes and DP Tuner says it's nott really a HP mod
