Saleenguy, You can go to valvoline.com for info on their products. That is where I read up on it. If I am not mistaken Valvoline used to make Ford oils in the past. How much per quart is the Motorcraft Mercon V that you purchased? I paid $4.49 per quart for the Valvoline.

After driving Ford trucks for over 30 years I haven't noticed any difference (from year to year) if you dont flush the tranny and change the filter every 50K or so on the older ones when you do tow anything heavy you'll be buying a new tranny before long. It's worked for over 30 years for me so my 06 will be getting a "tranny bath" sometime in the next 8K miles.
