Choosing between Diablo Predator or Edge Evolution
I have a 2002 Ford 7.3 powerstroke F-350 4x4 auto,215.000m.I have been using the Diablo Predator U7170 for 4 years and it has done well.Just recently sent it back to Diablo for new updates and now I have more power but less mileage.I thought about switching to the Evolution because of the display of gauges if it will put out the same power and mileage.I am not a racer but need the pulling power/mileage.K&N cold air intake & 4'' exhaust....Thanks
6637 is a filter you can buy at NAPA or at Fleetfilter.com, the K&N just don't filter that well. It lets bigger particles pass threw and eventually will distroy your turbo.
We need a sticky that tells every one to buy a DP and to ditch their K&N. I think that would save us all alot of time. This is a very common thread. I can tell you the outcome to the thread before I even open it.

If I had a choice between the Diablo Predator and the Evolution, I would go with the DP-TUNER.
Who makes the 6337?Tell me the skinny on the K&N verses other brands...Thanks
In addition to filtration, these big blocks suck A LOT of air. This has a tendency to pull the oil off of the filter and ingest it, which is not good. I had a K&N on my 5.4L F-150 for 7 years and had good results for the most part (after a good desert run there was some dusting in the intake tube).
I thought that if I bought a drop-in aFe Pro-Guard 7 replacement filter for the OEM intake box I would kill 2 birds with 1 stone by getting a better seal on the box (a known problem with the OEM setup) and buy my last filter. WRONG! After less than a year my filter minder was hitting 50% even after I cleaned and oiled the filter. So I bit the bullet, ditched my precious aFe and bought a 6637 (Napa filter aka "Big Honkin' Filter"). When I remove the intake tube it was oily and and all kinds of dusty. I took the intake box off of the battery tray to install the filter, but the hood still crushed it a bit. So I took my trusty Dremel and gutted the plastic bracket for the intake box (behind the battery tray) so that the tip will drop down inside the bracket area to lower the filter's profile a bit (plus adds a little support). I used a 4" piece of 4" diameter aluminum tubing (polished intake tubing for you **** retentive people like me or you can use a piece of exhaust pipe if you don't have OCB like me) to connect the intake tube to the filter. It works great and I love it. I've had it off-road (desert, mud, rocks) and have not had any problems with it. My wife has lectured me about breaking the rig while we were off-roading so I know the filter got a good workout.
I also did the zoodad (king style) and have not had a problem with the rains at all.
DISCLAIMER: This is not any kind of performance improvement. This will not add any noticeable horsepower (if you are looking for a quick 10HP, paint your truck red or get some really cool flame stickers for your tailgate and back window). It is more of a personal preference and noise addition. I'm glad I did it and proudly join the ranks of those before me who have converted to the 6637. Along with the foil delete, I can hear every pound of boost build and every wastegate actuation and I love it! This adds back some noise I lost from the in-tank mod and HPX line. When I drive down the street I'm proud that people turn to look thinking the gargabe truck is coming. I certainly didn't buy my rig for any covert operations.

Well I would agree with Rick but I would have to say Tony Wildman www.totaldieselperformance.com because I seen in your profile that you live in TX. Both are the best tuners for the 7.3L Jody has a fancy Digital Selector called ther F-5 and F-6 and can e-mail you tunes and store up to 16 tunes. Tony has an old rotary selector with up to 6 tunes but his tuning is great from what I have read and the reburns are free.
Nolan I was looking for that. I never heard any bad about AFE until now, but according to these test it has better filtration than the 6637. I was wondering if i needed a change.
