no cat

will it hurt my power any if I remove both cats on my truck? It already has the air pump removed. Also, it has a cat back flowmaster 3 in exhaust. Back cat was punched out and think the front cat is over due for removal/replacement.

1990 F-150 5.0 5spd 4X4 3.55 139,000 miles

No, its not going to hurt your performance you should gain a little. One thing it will do is let you hear what that flowmaster really sounds like. If you don't have to worry about emissions get a set of headers for it while your at it.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 01-11-03 AT 02:31 PM (EST)] when cats are removed ,what problems would one have with computer ,o2 sensor, air line into exhaust,EGR,thermactor air system.etc.or is there some way of correcting the side effects of having no cats. i have a 1991 f150 v8.
please explain the process so i can do a good job without hurting the truck>
