Leveling an 2005 Diesel Excursion???

Gentlemen, I'm relatively new to the Excursion section of this site. I recently bought an 05 Diesel Excursion. I absolutely luv this thing so far. I was wondering what the best way would be to level this truck without raising it more then 2 to 2.5 inches. I'm not looking to run monster tires, but have installed 20 inch wheels and 32 inch tires so far. I just need to raise the front end due to the added weight of the 6.0 liter diesel, and a 12,000 pound Warn hidden winch system that had been installed on the truck. I've been looking for info about installing new F-250 or maybe F-350 front springs, and trying to see what lift that may give me??? Any suggestions would be appreciated and welcomed!!! Thanks, Lou

V code springs off the front of a F-250 will probably give you the lift you are looking for on the front.

Search on here. PLENTY of info about it.

I have the same truck, and here is what I did:

Install and Evaluate Lift/Level 2005 Excursion

The link has lotsa pictures, and links to vendors and
more info.

I have put ~65K miles on the truck since I lifted it and am now
running 315/75/16 KO's on factory rims, 35K miles on them and
time to replace.

I am EXTREMELY pleased with the on and off-road performance,
allthough I also put landyot radius rods on at the same time, which
transforms the handling on these trucks. Without stabilizing the
rear axle, a lift and bigger tires may negatively affect handling,
especially towing. Just keep that in mind.

I go off-roading while heavely loaded, go playing, hunting and camping in the snow, and towing my boat and plane all over, including the challanging drive down to mulege and loreto and BOLA in Baja and am very, very satisfied with my setup.

Anyway click the links and see if it is any help, and as mentioned TONS
of info available here, this board has helped me immensely!

What can one expect to gain in total lift on the front end if he were to install the W series springs that are rated at 5600 lbs??? I have a 12,000 lb Warn winch up front, and I'm trying to pick up about 3 inches? Should I condider the X code springs rated at 6,000 pounds, or just purchase a 4" BDS or equivalent system??? I'm really not trying to raise the back so much, but more level the truck out. I am also concerned about changing the ride quality as well. Decisions decisions???
