Believe me, its steeper than it looks. I pushed the door up, not out. We didn't run the engine at firdt because it couldn't pick up oil, and it is a rear sump! figure that one out. No it was like 20 degrees so the ground was ice. The pics don't show the foot thick ice on it. And rest assured, Red was not damaged in this.
And thanks on the compliment. Just ordered a new set of custom wheels and 33-12.50 BFG all terrains for ol blue!
How come you're putting AT's on a Northern truck? Just curious.
Make sure to take plenty of pics when you put the rims and tires on! Truck looks good as it is though.
I snapped a couple of pics on yesterday's ice fishing outing. Drove about 50 miles to get a favorite lake of mine. We've already had a lot of the snow this winter (35+ inches, more than we get in whole usual winter!). So after we turned off of the interstate on to the dirt road we were following a newer Chevy 4 door pickup. Followed him all of the way to the turn for the lake. He pulled to the side of the road to ley me by. I took the turn for the lake, no one had attempted to go there yet. He then follows me. It's a farily hilly road and most of it was about a foot deep with some spots on the hills being about 3ft. Well Chevy driver stopped following me after about 1/4 mile down the road (road into the lake is a little over a mile). We made it the whole way without getting stuck, had to back up a few times and take a run, but hey I'm not complaining I also had a trailer in tow!
i love it lol...yesterday the highway was literally a skating rink not exaggerating...well minus the paint...but some dodge did a 180 and went into the ditch backwards the snow was hard so he when he got stopped he sunk er to the belly...me n my big 6 hooked up to it with a tow strap and couldnt get er out at first then the 2 guys pushed i rocked about 4 times then gunned er and drug it right out...cobbled t-case and all ITS GETTIN FIXED TUESDAY!!!!!!...but friday after work a tin-can chevy suv spun out and fishtailed it down the highway about a football feild in front of me it was so icy i couldnt stop so i t-boned em at 50km/h lol needless to say it was much worse for their tin-can chev then my steel FORD! ill post the full story when i take pics of her
Snow was sticking to the road and about 10 miles after I turned the cruise off the truck started to fish tail at about 60-70 mph, in the lane that I was in that "appeared" to be dry. Got it under control, but I'm pretty sure that there's a permanent hickey on the drivers seat !

Awesome looking Ford.
I always chuckle when I see a big ole' F250 / 350 + pulling a little trailer with a Quad or golf cart that my mom's Escape could pull. It just looks like over kill to the extreme. I just think it looks funny.

I would think the larger lugs of a mudder would help more in snow. I wouldn't know, I never have to deal with snow or ice. I wasn't trying to start an argument, it was an honest question. =)

Glad you're okay man! Shame about your truck. I hate hearing that. Where's the pics? Can you fix the damage?

I hear ya , the PSD might be slightly overkill for that "heavy" load, but it's not all for nothing. The bed of the truck has a 6x8 portable ice house, auger, heater, propane tank, and a tackle box in it.
Not to mention it's way easier to load the quad on the trailer, that's how I store it. No messing around all of the time with ramps, etc.

I'm glad you didn't take offense to what I said. I was worried you would take it the wrong way. I'm talking about the guys I never see use their F250 / 350's for any real work.. Heck, I see a lot of'em pull and haul loads I know my little '94 FlareSide can.
I pretty much assumed you had a bed full of junk. I know it's easier to just pull a little trailer. Like I said, it still looks hilarious though.
Actually I can't really say I have a solid opinion on ATs or Mud tires.
I have to admit my Super Swampers handle a helluva lot better than my BFG A/T's in the mud. But I think I did better in the snow last year. Might be worse this year though. Who knows!

I've heard nothing but bad things about the BFG A/T's. If you look at the tread design they really do look pretty pathetic. The sidewalls look good. I cringe every time I hear of someone buying BFG's.. They are very expensive, and if what I've heard is true, they aren't worth the price.
I can say the difference between my mudders and my old Performance GT tires is more than night and day. My truck didn't like wet grass with the GT's.

Hey what are you geared?
3.55 open diffs i believe i can fix the hood lol other than that everything just need replacement...ima just leave the bumper and build a big ole winch bumper instead of gettin a new one of those
this is my baby now friday night after work headin home doin about 50km/h cuz the wind was blowin snow so you cant see plus it was quite literally a skating rink a woman in an 02 chev blazer spun out and fishtailed about 150 feet ahead of me but i just could not get er stopped in time due to the ice...wound up hitten her in the passenger side right before the rear wheel...no-one was hurt...but their stupid tin-can of a chev took alot more than mine did and of course they are gonna try and pin it on me even though they were goin too fast or they call it weather and road conditions
Not the best pics. Taken from i phone about 3 weeks ago testing out the 4by launching "sweet jumps" off the top of this hill which had a vertical lip at top. Motor fell out of mount disconecting clutch. Easy fix then I drove out of there. you can see in the pic on the right how I bounced over about 4 feet to the right after I hit wall alomost rolling if tire would of been over 1 more foot to fall in a ditch.
now I just have to figure out how to post videos on the video thread just posted. I got some good ones from this past weekend dominating a good hill climb in my back yard area( nice upper class neighbourhood I decide to 4by up new developing property!) Neighbours love us!!!
Here's some pics of my buddy's very nice (it's ok to drool ) 79 150 in some action on Monday in the country around my home town (80 miles from me). Makes me real happy that I'll be moving back there soon .
Yeah it's been slightly reworked. I'm hoping he can help me with the body work on mine in a few years. And by the way, yeah he's cheating by having a sled in the back for traction!
