Yeah when I was up in the hills I was heading down and hit a road of solid ice, the truck did a 180 and slid into the ditch, luckily it was about the only spot up there that didn't have a hundred foot drop.
Needless to say, I bought a roll bar and put it in before my next adventure.
ya that could definately suck...went huntin with my uncle a while back in crowsnest pass and some of the places we drove were like "DONT LOOK DOWN!" lol...his lil truck is pretty nuts cant count the mountaintops we had that thing on...it the same as mine but green and a 96
It was slick enough that when we dug a hole trying to get up our drivway, we slid backward into the canyon.
Don't tell anyone, but a chebby ended up winching us out.
I can't figure out how to post pics, so they are in the red ford stuck file. And yes the toyota in the background, in typical toyota fashion, is stuck in one of those pics
see now im a ford man through and through but im not gonna get all huffy bout gettin pulled out by a chebby, chev made a good truck...in 76...so far ive pulled 2 fullsize chevys out of the snow...everyone gets stuck no matter what they drive and at least when i get stuck i have fun doing it!....WOOHOO 6 days and my t-case will be fixered i cant wait its gonna be awesome
I acually didn't care that he pulled me out. i was thankful because he was there the next day to help and the only one with a winch. No, chevy made a good truck its just a competition so i had to say that
as far as trucks go, as long as its american, its prolly good
haha yeah personally i dont like anything newer than 96ish...then they all started to go downhill but ive heard them 09 f450s are pretty nuts lots of guys run them on the rigs and beat the **** out of them...i like chevys bout 83 and older cause they look pretty cool and they are a good truck no doubt...but i really dont like dodge lol
My wheelin partner drives a Chevy K5. I'm not saying that it has anything to do with his driving or his brand, but I seem to pull him out alot more than he pulls me out. I have to admit, its a lesser vehicle. ( Not in the sense that its a chevy, my truck's just built a little bigger. )
I like the 70's and 80's Chevy trucks styles. And I have to admit I love the Chevelle more than any other car out there.
...not that we're talking about Chevy vehicles on a ford off-road forum. Thats ridiculous.
Its kind of bad around here actually. We had the most snow we've had in like 10 years.. and now we have record floods! Lucky us huh?
Not really effecting me much, but a large area 15-20 miles south is flooding really bad. And they just rebuilt from last decembers bad storm. Another national guard/red cross effort will be here soon.
Last year the Guard closed down alot of the area. The interstate was flooded. ( I-5 ) and its doing it again!
Same here in SW washington. The freezing level is up to like 10000 feet and there was about a foot at sea level for a while. And more and more as you went up. Now, all that melted AND we have had like 12" of rain. Way past flood stage. My high school is under water, and they are worried the dike is gunna break. So snow playing for me has seased for awhile so I can help out.
ya ive heard about the flooding alot hope you guys make it through okay...if all our snow melts really fast we will be flooded too happened in the summer...we have an underpass in lethbridge its kind of 50/50 overpass/underpass but it was damn near to the bottom of the bridge in water and our high school flooded too

I want that red truck. Ole' Blue is lovely too.
Can't believe that red truck couldn't get out of that hole?
Can't believe that red truck couldn't get out of that hole?
Believe me, its steeper than it looks. I pushed the door up, not out. We didn't run the engine at firdt because it couldn't pick up oil, and it is a rear sump! figure that one out. No it was like 20 degrees so the ground was ice. The pics don't show the foot thick ice on it. And rest assured, Red was not damaged in this.
And thanks on the compliment. Just ordered a new set of custom wheels and 33-12.50 BFG all terrains for ol blue!
