Were all the 1999 F-150 XLT and Lariat SCs equipped with only 2 pieces of bodyside molding per side? My truck has molding on main door and rear door only. I have seen other trucks with 3 pieces (main door, rear door, and bed). Does any know the details on when and why the change was made?
My 99 Lariat also has molding on the doors, I had a 97 F-150 that had the same, I think this is correct. I also had a 95 (The old body style) That had molding all the way back, and I think this is the last year for that.
I have never seen a new body F150 Fleetside {staight} come with a bed moulding, and,I always said that it was a shame 'cause it really does look awkward. Can you say "retrofit"!

My father told me that Ford was did this cause they were cheap. I think that the 1996-1997 last of the "old"XLT F-series looked decent but the new style looks really cheap!
I have a 99 XLT SC Flareside. These do not come with bodyside mouldings but the Styleside does. I found a thread on this and was able to get the Ford stock numbers for each piece. I ordered them from the dealer and installed them myself in about 20 minutes. I got the two pieces that fit on the doors so wound up with 4 pieces total. Be sure to take time lining up the pieces cause once they are on they are on good.
I have no idea why Ford didn't put these on the flareside. I'm thinking of ordering the Ford wheel opening mouldings like the Lariat has.
