Nice.

I hate it when important information is left out.

Ah well, at least it is out of your hair. But see if you can get the next tech to tell you what and where the problem was.

Well, this is just the latest in a list of times my position has been circumvented. Sometimes I honestly wonder why they hired me, I just feel like an extra step there.

Hey Jared, did you get the truck back yet? Find out what the problem was?

Well, the battery protection module showed up on Thursday, and I installed it on Saturday. It was having headlight issues as well, but that traced to the plugs behind the front bumper- Third truck with that problem this week.
So far, so good, the truck has logged a few hundred miles without issue. I cut the old one open, and it had some pretty nasty corrosion in it, definitely got wet at least once.
I'll wait to call "fixed" on it until next week, I need to wait and see if it holds together.

I own a 2002 379 as well and am having the same issue, while the truck is running, the battery protection system will kick on, start sounding it's alarm, and power off everything except the engine. I'm having a hard time finding the module you said you replaced. Is it behind the fuse panel in the driver's footwell? And did replacing it remedy the issue?

From what I remember, it was inside the dash, reachable through the instrument panel opening.
After I replaced that module the truck didn't have any further issues with blowing fuses or alarms.
Make sure to check your alternator output as well, not just for DC volts but AC, more than about .3vac and the computers start freaking out.

well this problem frustated me for years! If you want to stop the leak dont look at the seal on the windshield! Its coming in where wire harness's enter the cab on the fire wall. It can vary how much water enters that location if, your air ride on you can loses air when the trucks not being driven. So the rear of your cab lowers it opens a gap between the hood and the cab. Now rain has a direct route to to the area where harness connects to the firewall! Of coarse water is gonna penatrate any unsealed areas! Once inside the firewall it follows your wires into fuse panel creating havic! Seal that location with a good silicone!
Damage has probably already been done to the fuse pane but a good mechanic may be able to repair it if corrosion hasnt gone to far!? Good luck!

2002 379, pretty standard truck. The company I work for has had it for about three years, and the whole time it's been acting up to varying degrees.
The constant issue is that the battery protection system indicator is always on, dimly. Occasionally, while the truck is running, the battery protection system will kick on, start sounding it's alarm, and power off everything except the engine.
Lately, though, it has started a new trick. Occasionally, the whole instrument cluster will start freaking out, all the lights and alarms go on, all the gauges drop to zero, but it all comes back to normal if you cycle the key, even without actually killing the engine. It also sometimes kicks on all the warning lights when put in reverse, but I haven't been able to get it to do this for me.
The other day, the low air alarm started going off with 115psi in the tanks. I checked at the air pressure sensors in front of the brake pedal, and was only getting 4v there. After turning it off and on a few times doing other tests, I had 10v there and the light went out.
I'm kinda lost on this truck, since I don't have all the documentation I need on it. I did order a battery protection module for it since that's the only thing I could find that might be keeping the light on, but I don't think it'll have any effect on the other problems.

Has anybody run into this before? I'm really not used to having electrical problems beat me.
