IC means Inter Cooler and the tubes going up to the turbo from the Intercooler are the intercooler pipes the boots that are on each end of the pipes are the ones that get so dirty. The CCV is the crank case vent that is in your intake. the little black thing mid ways through your intake tube. You remove it turn the dog house around and run a tube of heater hose out to vent the Crank Case oil from getting in your IC and such and making your boots get nasty and cause boost leaks and risk them popping off.
At BD we have recognized this common issue and have designed a CCV kit to eliminate the problem with-out venting to atmosphere. They BD CCV kits are a clean, OEM like install and have a replaceable filter. Like mention above in this thread there are a lot of cheap do-it-yourself options that can be done for less money and honestly I can not knock them cause anything is better than the OEM setup. For those of you that are more enviromentally concerned and what a clean, fully functional CCV kit that looks like it rolled out of the plant with it on, look no further! Click HERE for more details on the BD CCV Kit.
Also if your boots are deteriorated and will not stay on, we also offer a heavy duty boot and clamp kit. Click HERE for more details on the BD Boot Kit.
I just replaced my boots (dieselsite, sorry) because the dusting was killing me (and my boost too)!
Couldn't tell you about the boots (my old oily ones are in a box in the garage), but to clean the tube you can use hand cleaner (Gojo, etc...). If you want to do the foil delete while you're at it, use brake cleaner. I would spray brake cleaner under the foil and peel back slowly. Just be sure to have plenty of rags/paper towels handy!

No worries!! I would like to follow up on your install procedure though, we use a brake cleaner like you mentioned to clean the tubes. Further more, once the tubes are clean a little hairspray will help the new boots slide on and will leave a nice tacky seal to insure they will not slip off again. With our boot kit we also include a set of heavy duty spring loaded clamps! With a CCV fix, these install procedures and a good boot kit you should never have to deal with deteriorated boots coming off again or a clogged I/C and poor performance from the turbo. Time well spent!
I wish I would have done the hair spray trick. I was on top of the engine trying to muscle the tubes back on (the longer, stronger boots don't make it an easy fit) for way longer than I want to admit, but I know they aren't coming off any time soon!
I've been wanting to do the CCV mod, but not an open one. I've been toying with using the Racor unit and making my own closed system, but now that BD has one and tax season is coming...
Sweetie my truck isn't running too good and needs a part.....

I think I spent about $250 from dieselsite. I see that BD's is less than the one I bought and looks about the same and comes in one kit. Dieselsite breaks it up into 2 kits, one for the IC (2 boots) and one for the engine (4 boots). The clamps look like they are the same.
Thats what I was looking at wish bobs was a bit cheaper..
