Temperature Guage in Message Center

Temperature Guage in Message Center
I have searched around, and most people have other problems with the temp guage. But, my problem is that when I start my truck, it will read either 118, or 140, then go to "---F" I am almost sure that I need to go to Ford and buy a new sensor, right? If so, does anyone have a part number? Seeing as how the guys at my local Ford dealership have been known to get angry, throw staplers, and yell (not at customers, but at other employees in front of customers) Also, is this part pretty easy for the average person to replace? Thanks a lot!

I believe the temperature sensor is either in front of the radiator or behind the bumper, not too sure.
Don't have time to research that at the moment, probably will tonight. I will post back when I find something.

I know this is an old thread, but what was the solution? I changed my stx cluster for a fx4, that has this in message center. I want to wire in the temp. sensor to the cluster. Anyone have part # or wire diagram?? thx, J
