4 inch exhaust question

I am considering going from stock to 4" exhaust with flow through muffler. I do alot of city towing with this truck and so it's alot of start and stop. My questions are would the 4" cause a significant increase in drone under a load such as towing? Secondly I've seen some opinions on other threads that the 3.5" stock downpipe with the 4' exhaust gives better low end power. Is this true? I'm looking to do DP tuner and guages while I'm thinking about what I want to do about the exhaust. I just don't want the drone.
Thanks,
Paul

I have a 4" turbo back system with a high flow muffler. I do allot of towing and can say personally I don't notice that much extra noise in the cab at all. No real drone to worry about. As for power I think that all and all it is well worth it. The outlet on the turbo is 4" so it only makes since to have pipe that is of equal size. As we all know these motors work better the faster you can get air into them and the faster you can get air out. Also with the mods you are looking at I think the 4" will only help you.
Not to mention it sounds great!!!
I'm sure you will get a few different opinions good luck and have fun!
