Ok, this has been going on for a while now off and on and I think I've figured it out that it only happens when its cold out, hence the happening on and off since here in Jersey it's recently been warm or cold and no in between. There is a strange hissing noise that sounds like static from a radio station. It only happens while I'm going a steady speed, or lightly accelerating. It stops completely while I'm decelerating, whether I'm still in gear or not(I drive a 5 spd) and while I'm accelerating normally or hard. Since it only happens while in gear I have a feeling it's in the transmission. Oh, and it does not stop once the truck is at operating temp. Any idea's cause I'm stumped.
does the noise go away when you push on the clutch?
i have a hiss that has been getting more persistent which is not my EBPV- makes the same noise when i have the back pressure valve unplugged. i was wondering if it is a bearing in the clutch or something?
Yeah, goes away when press in on the clutch. Seems like it's getting more consistent now which I blame on the weather being consistently cold but have no idea if the temp has anything to do with it. Just doesn't seem to do it when I get a warmer day of weather. May just be coincidence? I'm lost and like my name implies....I'm a newb
