I am leaving from Freehold NJ, 07728, tomorrow around 10am and heading to Killington VT, 05751, about 300 mile trip.
I just replaced my fuel pump and I had a few problems, I broke down two days ago and again today but I think I now have it fixed. I also got new tires and the shop told me I need new ball bearings in my front knuckles (or a-arms).
<O Is anyone near this route? I am a little nervous of braking down far away from home with no idea where I am or a shop is, any tips, tools or supplies I should bring? Thanks guys.
I'm not anywhere near that, but I'll bump you back up. You might also post the same question down in some of the local state chapters. They may not know diesels, but might be able to offer repair shop numbers.

I'm along the route, but I don't know if I can be of any help unfortunately. I've got no license and the truck is unregistered.
Sorry.
That's more help than you realize Pete. Just having someone familiar with the area offers peace of mind. If he broke down near you, you could at least find him a tow truck, or maybe tell him where the closest parts store is, or something simple like that.

I guess.
If you could limp your truck all the way to East Haven, CT I could offer you a full shop with 2 welders, but no lift. Unfortunately you'd still be outside since the GMC is in there, but it's better than nothin.
If you'd like my cell# (phone not prison) just PM me.
Thank you all so much for your help, unfortuantly the truck broke down again just before leaving and we decided not to take it. I just got off the phone with the place I bought my walbro 392 from and they are sending me out a new one, should be here Wed or Thurs.
