air ride system

I ran airbags on the lift axles on my tri-axle dumps with 1/2 million miles on several of them so the bags would have been flat 1/4 million miles on each truck and never replaced an airbag

Interesting, I wonder why they tell you to keep them at 5 then?? Now you've got me curious...

Thats a different setup though. Thats a full air ride system, these are just add a leafs basically. The reason they say to keep a min of 5 psi in the bags is so that when you hit a bump, the bag doesnt compress so hard that it will damage the fitting inside or the top and bottom endcaps which are just secured with metal straps.

There is a little bumpstop in the bag for some protection.

no it is not an air ride suspension,but if the bags are installed correctly they will never bottom out,

but actually for smoothest ride the bags should have a little air in them
