I was wondering if anyone has installed a set of cutout flares on an 04 250/350 with a diesel. Could I get 35's to fit without rubbing, if I put the cutout flares on? Where would the tires rub, if not on the fenders? I currently have 33X12.50's on there and they still look tiny compared to the truck. I would like to put on larger tires, but really don't want to lift it, maybe a leveling kit, but no lift.
I run 35s with only a leveling kit and still had some rubbing. Mostly on the rear of the plastic inner fender liner and on full lock left or right, the tires would rub the leafs. Both can easily be fixed.
I have 34's on my 2005 with the leveling kit without rubbing. They are the new Toyo LT285/75R-17 and I like them a ton. The size seems to fit the truck really well. I would have went a little taller but think it really should be lifted more. Just my 2 cents.

I would LOVE to know what the easy fix is. I have a 4" Full Traction lift with 37's and rub still on the rear of the plastic inner fender liner.

why not just buy the "pocket style" from Bushwacker
they give you the Cutout look and they install real easy
I have a stock 4x4 and run 315/70R17's with no rubbing, get a little rubbing at front frame at full lock
I really don't want flares, I was just considering doing the cutout flare thing, to tuck some 35's in the fenders without rubbing. If there is no need to trim the fenders, I will just leave it alone. Thanks though. I may just do the leveling kit and see where I rub.

For what you want to do I would not suggest the cutout flares because they are very big and wide.
35x12.50 tires will look tiny with them, I would only go with the cutout flares if you were going to run at least 38" tires.
I really like the aggressive look of the cut-out flares and the ability to avoid rubbing of the tires. However, I have reviewed the installation guide for the cut-out flares and wonder if all that cutting compromises the strength integrity of the fender... I would think that the original design (curves) adds significant strength to the fender, especially the rear fender.
The cut out flares are pretty aggressive for a newer truck. I have the 2 inch level on my F-350 in the front and used the pocket style to cover the tires. BFG 35's
