I guess I should have said 2.5 to 3 hrs away from Anderson California. I was thinking that they where in Shasta city. A little south of Redding LOL. My bad but still close. I live in Klamath Falls Oregon. about 20 miles from the boarder and about 74miles to weed! My bad!!!LOL
We always liked the Klamath Falls area. We had a 100 acre ranch just outside of Klamath Falls towards Beatty, Bly area. When my health "hips" went south, we sold the ranch. It is difficult taking care of a ranch when you can not walk. We enjoyed it in the spring, summer and fall, but around November, it gets
COOOOLD around there, so we would come back to our house in Redding in the winter. We had 30 acres of pasture and lots of Pine and Juniper trees. Two artesian wells, One well was at 140 gpm with a 10 hp pump.
It was at 4500 ft. so lots of snow in the winter. It was great waking up in the morning and seeing all the deer in the pasture. Ranches are for the young...Getting old sucks. We had a pond and seasonal creek running through the pasture. 1,000's of trees.. We miss the place, but we got to old to enjoy it.

I understand that! I plan on dieing here. I always have a love for K.Falls that goes way back for me. Of course a few of my family members grew up here (Great Grandpa who owned a ton of Model T's & A's, Grandpa & his Brothers, Aunt, Uncle and my Mom). I love the winters, summers and Falls (Indian Summers).
We will have to meet up one of these days @ the Drag Strip or something. Take care & Happy New Year to you and your Family.....Enjoy
Well LOL....I have to finish my Falcon before I can take it LOL. Its in work still. I got to get a Crites kit for it. One of these years I will have it done. Have most of my engine stuff and tranny for it!
It is always good to have a project going.... It gives us something to do out in the garage or shop. I still have to get the cage installed in ours, and also we are changing the front brakes from drum to disc. The runout area at Redding drag strip is not very long, and I remember getting very close to the fence the last time I ran the Falcon, so with more power, better traction, and MSD electronic ignition, I need to upgrade the brakes. So our project continues.
Over the years, I have seen some nice cars come down from Klamath Falls to run at our drag strip. One was a Dodge diesel 4x4 pickup that ran high 12's.
I was in shock to see that big heavy Dodge run that quick, smoking all 4 tires off the line. He beat many of the local hot shot chevy guys, and a few Mustangs I am sad to say. In 1965 a 14 second GTO was the hot car on the street. In 1989 when we ran 10.79 in our street legal Falcon, there were only a couple cars that were street legal around here in the 10's. Last year I saw two that ran high 9's. Times have changed. For some reason, Oroville California is the hot spot for hot cars. They have many 9 second street legal cars, and their town is a very small town.... One is a Datsun 240Z with a monster cheby engine that ran 9.2 last time I saw it. It had license plates, but would not be very practical going further than a couple miles on the street. Our 240ZV8 is set up for top end, and road racing so it would not be very good in the 1/4 mile.
