Rocker Arm Specialist near Redding has a trick setup for our FE engines. They are building a set for me and they will be finished in a couple of weeks. I will post pictures when they are finished. They blueprint each system for each customers setup. Not the one system fits all type of rockers that most companies sell. That is cheap not cheep...typo...
The complete FE rocker assembly blueprinted for your heads is $725 which I think is a bargain. They use a unique system that just about eliminates flex. Also they adjust rocker travel for your individual cam lift, to keep the rollers in the center of the valve stem, throughout the valves cycle.
hell keep us posted on the outcome, that is a very reasonable price for the amount of R&D it seems go into these. Thats for rockers/stands? or rockers/stands/shafts ?
That price is for everything... They do not use stands, they use one long billet aluminum cradle. The rocker arm shafts sit in the cradles, so flex is almost non existent, even at very high rpm. The Edelbrock heads have the intake valves moved out .050 from stock, so it is important to blueprint the rockers so that they align with the valves perfectly for high rpm stability. Otherwise premature valve and valve guide failure is likely.
Wes; Your system looks great. I am sure that it does a great job.
They are just two good examples of what is out there for our FE engines.
Yeah the RAS System looks good also...as does the Erson set-up, But I think Erson went up on there prices last year....
Some of us know a guy that ran the RAS system on his cammer this year for drag week..and tore the hell out of a few of the rockers...Glenn, Wes did we ever find out what JB's problem was? Because didnt he also tear up a few of another brand he used to replace the RAS while they were in-between tracks?
I used stock shafts with FPP end supports and Comp Roller Rockers with great sucess! Here it is:
Wes, I am surprised you are able to use the factory type springs between your rockers. I recently put harland sharp roller rockers on my 428 along with new HD shafts from Precision Oil Pumps. Within seconds of firing it up, I had two different rockers walk off the valve tips. It scared the bjesus out of me so I ordered some fixed spacers.

Tim
Well Tim, I drove the crap out of that Solid roller 428 of mine! LOL I never had a problem with the rockers walking off. No kidding!!! I'm using that on my Poor Mans 427 set-up right now. I would like to upgrade one of these days! But money is tight...........
I do like the set-up that you posted! That would be great for The Poor Mans 427.
But for a budget build with a flat tappet cam (or a HYD cam), I would think this system would work just fine. BUT I like big solid roller cams and I would have to use a system like what you posted on! Now.......Only if I had the money LOL.
What city do you live in that is a hour away from Anderson California? Or do you mean that you live close to PRW?
I guess I should have said 2.5 to 3 hrs away from Anderson California. I was thinking that they where in Shasta city. A little south of Redding LOL. My bad but still close. I live in Klamath Falls Oregon. about 20 miles from the boarder and about 74miles to weed! My bad!!!LOL
